    1. Introduction

Exactly 202 days ago, I began a 90-day coding challenge after consulting with a Tech Mentor. We dedicated nearly an hour to establishing clear goals for the journey ahead.

Initially, I embarked on this challenge with unwavering enthusiasm. However, despite my best intentions, my progress stalled at day 24. I made subsequent attempts to resume the challenge, first on October 21, 2023, and then again on January 1, 2024. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances intervened, and I found myself battling illness that persisted until mid-February.

The primary obstacle hindering my progress was a mental health breakdown, which cast a shadow over the entirety of 2023. Despite recalling my motivations for undertaking the challenge, I struggled to maintain daily coding habits.

On 25th/March, I took a significant step forward by deciding to resume my coding journey, beginning afresh from day one and been steadily progressing, sharing insights on my social media handles (Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn).

  1. Day 1 - 7/90 Update

  • 90 Day Roadmap & Setting up GitHub and folders remotely.

Created a road map for the next 90 Days, coded for a minimum of one hour daily and shared progress on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter(X).

Building a freelance portfolio currently, hence had to limit putting out alot of illustrations while posting daily.

  • Git and GitHub

Successfully test deployed a freelance project on GitHub pages. I wanted to be able test it's responsiveness. Fixed a bug or two and it went down perfectly.

  • Contact Form Data collection

I was able to successfully connect my contact form to Sheet DB and can now able collect user input, with the help of JavaScript.

  1. Challenges

Mainly challenge this week has been tight work schedule and at some point my computer misbehaved.

I was able to persist and made sure I coded daily. Reading the Book, "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, a chapter daily has also helped with my mindset.

  2. Key Takeaways

My key take away this week has been always having your "WHY", it always comes in handy when you feel frustrated, demotivated and almost want to throw in the towel.

  3. Next Steps

Continue my 90 Days Challenge, continual progress update on social platforms(even though it increases my anxiety) and have a catch up with my Tech Mentor and Coach Fanny Nyayic .
